PARTNERS AND MENTORS

Quincy Jones Mentor Greatest Producer to Have Lived

From an early age, Jamie Cook was raised inside the entertainment industry through direct mentorship, partnership, employment, and leadership of senior executives across music, film, hospitality, and television. Several of these individuals were not only professional guides, but adopted uncles who helped raise Jamie inside the business—passing down generational knowledge, ethics, and craft that shaped his lifelong approach to building artists, catalogs, companies, platforms, and global brands.

These relationships were more than mentors or just business partners — they were Mr. Cook's extended family. Many entered his life when he was between 15 and 17 years old, remaining present and influential until each one's passing, a reality shaped by the significant age difference between them.

Now 56, Mr. Cook has lived what feels like ten lifetimes of experience, the result of decades spent being guided by exceptionally intelligent, caring, and principled individuals. Each of them, successful in their own right, shared one common belief they instilled in him early: that success, achievement, and financial abundance are gifts from a higher power, entrusted to us to be used to make a meaningful difference.

Mr. Cook has carried that belief throughout his life's work — from co-founding the Humanitarian Awards with Elizabeth Taylor in 1993, honoring major artists for using their influence and resources for good, to his ongoing efforts to feed the hungry in developing nations and help provide access to clean water.

As Mr. Cook states:
"I believe it is our duty to leave the world a little better because we existed, and I work toward that in everything I endeavor."
